What is actually official

  • Zeverland is still pre-alpha. Two closed playtests have run so far (November 2025 and June–July 2026); neither was content-complete.
  • On August 3, 2026 the studio said it is entering a long "heads-down" development cycle, and gave no date for the next test.
  • The game is confirmed buy-to-play (July 2026 roadmap; reaffirmed August 3, 2026) — but the price is not announced.

What is only reported

  • At Gamescom 2026, press outlets reported a plan for a public demo around Q1 2027 and early access during 2027. Quantum Quirks has not formally announced either. Treat both as provisional.

Timeline of official statements

  1. Zeverland announced. Cute-art open-world zombie survival, pitched as a persistent online world.

  2. First playtest (pre-alpha tech test, under NDA, progress wiped afterwards). Wishlists pass 100,000 the same month.

  3. Second playtest, this time without an NDA. Roughly 8,000 players took part, per the official recap.

  4. Wishlists pass 300,000. Roadmap pivot: buy-to-play co-op PvE, private servers, deeper vehicles, power, farming, fishing.

  5. Fireside Chat #02: buy-to-play reaffirmed; "heads-down" long development cycle begins; third test undated.

  6. Gamescom 2026: playable booth demo; press reports of a Q1 2027 public demo and 2027 early access — not officially announced.

How you'll know first

Official announcements land on the Steam news hub first. When a date is announced, this page gets it same-day — and the demo tracker switches from "reported" to "confirmed".
