Zeverland FAQ

Short answers, each stamped with what's confirmed, what's from playtests, and what nobody has said yet. Last fact check: October 24, 2026.

What is Zeverland?

Zeverland is an open-world co-op PvE survival-crafting game by Quantum Quirks, announced November 2024. Cute characters, brutal survival: set in the first minutes after the "Red Rain" outbreak, it lets you dismantle almost any object and combine almost any two items into new tools and weapons, build a camp with NPC survivors, and — if you're bitten — choose to keep playing as a zombie.

Confirmed
Is Zeverland an MMO?

No. The original pitch was a persistent free-to-play MMO with PvP, but the July 2026 roadmap pivoted to a buy-to-play co-op PvE game — solo-capable, with official servers plus officially hosted private servers. The change was reaffirmed on August 3, 2026.

When does Zeverland release?

No official release date. Press reports from Gamescom 2026 pointed to early access during 2027 and a public demo planned for Q1 2027 — neither officially announced. Our release date tracker updates within 48 hours of any official word.

Not announced
What platforms is Zeverland on?

PC via Steam is the only confirmed platform. Console versions are not close, and controller / Steam Deck support has not been confirmed either way.

Confirmed
Is Zeverland free to play?

No — it's buy-to-play (one purchase, no subscription), per the July 2026 roadmap. The price is not announced. See the price page.

Confirmed
How many players can play co-op?

A specific party/server size hasn't been officially detailed yet. Confirmed: single-player works, and official servers plus officially hosted private servers are part of the plan. Any "X-player co-op" number you've seen predates the July 2026 pivot — treat it as outdated.

Not detailed
Will Zeverland have private servers?

Yes — the July 2026 roadmap includes player-hosted / officially supported private servers alongside official ones, so you can run a world for your own group. Technical details (rental vs. self-host, modding) aren't published yet.

Roadmap
Can you recruit NPCs?

Yes. Playtests showed NPC survivors you can recruit to your camp with job roles — cooking, sewing, brick-making, patrols — so your base keeps producing while you're out scavenging.

Playtest-observed
Does Zeverland work on Steam Deck?

Unconfirmed — the developer hasn't said anything about Steam Deck verification or controller support. Given the pre-alpha state, read nothing into that silence either way.

Unconfirmed
What features are coming after launch features?

The roadmap names: deeper vehicle customization (the RV update was the announced next theme), power systems, farming, fishing, PVE protection rules, expanded faction storylines, ziplines, larger maps with richer points of interest, and more weapon assembly.
