Test history

TestWhenAccessWhat it covered
First test Nov 14–17, 2025 Under NDA Infrastructure and stability focus. Progress was wiped when the test ended. Wishlists crossed 100,000 the same month.
Second test Jun 25 – Jul 2, 2026 Streaming allowed Roughly 8,000 players (official recap). Showed the combine-bench crafting, vehicles, NPC camps and the infection system in action. The studio publicly apologized afterwards for the build's state and published a thank-you recap.
Third test TBA Unknown On Aug 3, 2026 the studio said it is entering a long "heads-down" development cycle — no test 3 date. Sign-up windows have previously opened on the Steam page and filled fast.

What the second test told us

The June–July 2026 test was the first under streaming-friendly rules, and it is where most of what we describe on this site was seen in action: the combine bench with its glue/bind/embed/weld methods, dismantling furniture for parts, driving customizable vehicles, recruiting NPC survivors, and the infection choice after a bite.

It was also rough: the studio posted a public apology about the build's state after the test — worth remembering that everything observed is pre-alpha and can change.

How Zeverland playtest sign-ups work

  1. A sign-up window opens — previously announced on the Steam page and official social channels.
  2. You request access (the June 2026 window ran about a week: June 12–18).
  3. Keys go out shortly before the test; access is revoked when the test ends.

For the third test there is no date yet. When recruitment opens, we'll update this page the same day.

Test news log

  1. No test 3 date. Studio cites a long "heads-down" development cycle.

  2. Test 2 ends; studio posts an apology for the build state and a recap (~8,000 players, 7 days).

  3. Test 2 sign-up window open on Steam; keys out June 22–24; test runs Jun 25 – Jul 2.

  4. Test 1: closed pre-alpha tech test under NDA; saves wiped afterwards.
